I began my career as a local newspaper reporter before moving into PR, first with local authorities and then with John Laing Construction. A highlight was promoting the building of the Second Severn Crossing which provided an important road link between England and Wales. I worked with international, national and local media and also helped to produce a regular community newsletter to keep local people informed about the progress of construction.
Since then I have worked for corporate publishing agencies – Paragon Golin Harris, Roe Associates and Lang Communications – writing, editing and project managing a wide variety of internal and external newsletters, magazines, brochures, reports and websites for private and public sector clients. They include GlaxoSmithKline, Eli Lilly, Heathrow Airport, Britvic Soft Drinks, William Hill, GEA, UK Trade & Investment and Royal Bank of Scotland. I was particularly proud to have contributed to the London Development Agency’s reports on the London 2012 Olympic legacy.
My expertise spans the whole production process, from planning to delivery. I particularly enjoy the challenge of tackling new subjects and transforming technical and complex information into compelling copy.
I am now a full-time freelance.
